Lava shares update as 86 employees and partners return safely from Vietnam

Lava has confirmed that 86 employees and channel partners who were part of the company's Vietnam incentive trip have safely returned to India following the tragic boat accident near Phu Quoc. The company also said the remaining team members are in Vietnam to complete repatriation formalities, while one channel partner continues to receive medical treatment.

The update comes days after the speedboat carrying Indian tourists capsized off the coast of Phu Quoc. The accident claimed 15 Indian lives, including several Lava channel partners and one company employee, while many others were rescued. The incident occurred during an incentive trip organised for Lava's channel ecosystem.

In its latest official statement, Lava said the remaining employees and channel partners have stayed back to complete the necessary formalities for the repatriation of the mortal remains of those who lost their lives. The company also confirmed that one injured channel partner is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Vietnam.

"We cannot begin to imagine what they witnessed and endured. Our hearts are with each of them and their families as they begin to heal," the company said in its statement.

Lava added that it remains in close coordination with the Embassy of India in Vietnam, the Vietnamese authorities and the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City. The company said it will continue to share verified updates as they become available.

Its immediate priority, Lava said, remains supporting survivors, assisting bereaved families and ensuring the safe return of everyone affected by the tragedy.
