On similar lines, Viral Thakkar, director, Sales, NxtGen mentions that yesterday's computing environment was basically to serve desktops, today the same environment is used to serve mobile phones and tablets; more than laptop or desktop we use phones, and hence, he feels that everything is going to be on cloud. He was speaking on the sidelines of the NxtGen event, conducted in association with DQ Channels at Delhi. So, as part of the strategy, NxtGen in a joint venture with Emerson came out with three lines of business solutions catering to SMEs: On premise data centre, high density data centre and enterprise cloud services. After analyzing NxtGen and Emerson's offering, partners from Delhi and Uttarakhand spoke on the effectiveness of the proposed offerings.

"It is a value addition when it comes to small data centers. If you see the cost, the application and the solution; it will not fit in the big data centre. So we will pitch this solution to our remote offices, small plants where one or two racks are required. It will create value for my organization, "said KPS Rathore from Jaypee group, who provides solution to his own group companies.

Another partner, Puneet Kaura from Interface Corporation said, "Solutions are good but my main reservation is whether my existing customers would like to shift."

He adds, "For a new customer, everything is from scratch but for an existing customer where everything has been done by split AC kind of scenario, which remains a problem in cooling scenario. But other things remain the same. Now, shifting this customer to this kind of solution remains a problem."

He caters to his customers present in SME, government segment in Dehradun. On the other hand, Kamal Saini from Orange Business Solution-which he refers to a part of France telecom group-feels that the offerings need to be compared with those of the competitors' and then complete benefits would be known.

He added, "May be for the Government or large data centers requirement, this may not offer value but this is more towards the BFSI segment or mid segment, where they have lot of issues about the timelines. Here they can reduce the lead time."

While Mukesh Tiwari, general manager, sales of Velosis Systems seemed quite satisfied with this offering. He mentions, "The solutions are unique because it is backed up by ‘NxtGen' support along with the flexibility. Though we have our strength in other areas but with the offerings like control (DCIM), we are empowered now to grow in this segment too."

For DKS Info service, that is into technology consulting, integration and services in Dehradun, it is about providing support. Dinesh Kumar Sharma, owner, DKS said "My point is more on selling data centres as a concept, travelling effectively at the grass root level who manages IT for SMBs. Also, whether NxtGen or Emerson provide support to the sales person out in the field, who may not be experienced in selling high amount deals."
