God-Who Dat?
So why did god create duality, me and the the non-me Whats his game With the
blues in my ear Above the aircraft engine sound
The Red Label wasn't so bad Air India provides green chillies My patterns for
my tongue are set The brie and plums in New Orleans as a dish was sweet and I
didn't Classify it as dinner
The Buddha smile takes over The corner of my lips I sense And the tears roll
down as I listen to khwaja mere khwaja
So god-who dat Where he at The whole split into opposites The silence is
split By the beats Offbeat or downbeat
The me and not me How much do I stretch the rubber band Illusions it all
Choose-zero or it all-infinity All the same
2010 Reflections |
I don't want to get out of the blanket, cuddling pleasure with family. It's cold but sunny outside. Paranjap is excited with the car game on the iPhone. My mind swims through the year gone by and felt like sharing some of the slices. The economic mood was grim for most of the year. We used it to slim down as an organization-removing process and people fat and declared war on waste. We brought in a better consciousness of control systems and we matured in selecting businesses. Our finance and accounts created many best practices.
We also matured in marketplace development-in organizing events, in understanding customer needs and selecting solutions which made a difference (Google and Adrenalin). The relationship with Gartner helped in course correction. I have a deep sense of satisfaction with the speed at which Team Labs built and turned around solutions. We had a huge acceleration in process development. For the first time in our 20 years of business, the revenue fell. Infrastructure solutions did a remarkable job-improved productivity, slimmed down by one third and built better solutions. We have been able to build our information management business into a reasonably world-class outfit. We need to nurture business applications. Our infrastructure support business went through a roller coaster ride and is being completely re-invented with the addition of application support./dqc/media/post_attachments/f1a5a7239c41b24c73c9faa8c498c9cc6a6186d7e5408ef9241bb08241b5cae0.jpg) I am happy with our focus on people development-I learned how to keep my heart in check-thank you Gurukul. We are really the sum of our habits-both good and bad. I have been able to continue some good ones this year, which include regular exercise, eating carefully but haven't meditated enough. As an organization we picked up good habits of daily planning and execution and learned about sharing with others. Our ability to switch habits and overcome our programming is really the only expression of our freedom. I was happy with many Gurukul participants who have given up smoking. I am proud of the BMT team setting new standards and generating wealth for all. I am happy that we were able to contribute to projects for the differently privileged and create systems of giving for many worthy causes (Friendicoes, Sarthak, Palna, schools). I have not been able to create an extra employment for another 1,000 people and that remains a goal for the next year. This was also a year when I travelled a lot-on leisure with family to Spain, Japan, USA and Pushkar. I indulged in finally getting myself a Tumi bag. I am feeling confident as we start the new year. Lets keep our focus on our core human values of love and respect. Let us seek these values out and get out of toxic relationships. I am confident of our ability to create opportunities for growth and to inspire excellence all around. The saxophone is essentially a hollow instrument which produces melody when wind flows through it. I am sure in the new year the universal energy will continue to flow through us and we will resonate. Together. Want to share your thoughts with us, write to the editor |
