Omnitech bags international services management project

Mumbai-based Omnitech Infosolutions has bagged a lucrative project from Griffin Marine. Under the three-year contract, Omnitech will offer backend infrastructure management services (IMS) for the entire backend of the company. 

It has already got five of its team members working on the project from Mumbai. The team manages the BPO services of the client as well as data center management. All applications are centralized, which gives the client a 24/7/365 uptime.

The project, which wet underway in March, has be set up in three locations-- Manila, Hong Kong and Singapore. Omnitech will have to set up the services in 22 cities by the end of the contract.

Says Avinash Pitale, Director, Omnitech Infosolutions, "Outsourcing IMS makes sense for corporates as it rids them of the trouble of managing their systems. With someone else looking after IMS, they can concentrate on their core competencies."

Also, outsourcing IMS saves up to 50% costs for the customers. "If Griffin were to engage its own team for IMS, then it would need 22 people to monitor the processes. We are doing the remote management with a team of just five people, which translates into good savings for the client," Avinash adds. He is confident that all these non-tangible benefits will get converted into tangible cost savings and increased efficiency, by the end of the project period.

Omnitech has similar projects with other corporates in the pipeline and its expects this business to contribute 30% to its overall business revenues within three years.
