And when he is not meeting the channel, he keeps scouting the country for a Royal Enfield bike, which he has finally managed to get and will soon be taking back to Hong Kong.

FREQUENCY OF VISITS TO INDIA: At least four times annually

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT INDIA: The sights, smells and sounds that is so unique to the country. I simply love the food and the passion people have for it. This is the only place in the world where you can get vegetarian food as well as non-vegetarian in various styles, under a single roof. And people here are so warm and friendly, that you don't feel like a visitor at all. I also like the exuberance of the nationals here, be it in their work or the way they celebrate their festivals. 

WHAT I DISLIKE ABOUT INDIA: The abject poverty. I often wonder how my kids complain about not having the latest gizmos, how I would like to have a better car and then I see people in India who are living in such difficult, almost inhuman, conditions. It is humbling and saddening, at the same time.

WHAT I LOOK FORWARD TO IN INDIA: The food and seeing newer places. I am struck by how one region differs from another so drastically. The dichotomy of the nation and its diversity is really astounding. I am also amazed by the Royal Enfield bike, especially the 1940s vintage model. I am planning to take one back with me to Hong Kong soon.

ONE THING ABOUT INDIA THAT HAS STUCK TO YOUR MIND: I once chanced upon a beggar without any limbs and when I gave him a $1 note, he turned around and in an accent more British than mine, he said, "Thank you, sir." That simple pleasure on his face on getting the money and his courtesy really shook me and made me realize how there are so many things about life that one takes for granted.
