With an aim to capture a larger share of the human capital management (HCM)
market, Oracle has defined a three-pronged market strategy to meet customer
requirements and address new opportunities in HCM. "By focusing on product
alignment to meet the needs of the Indian market, coupled with partner
empowerment and targeted marketing programs, we will be able to reach out to
Indian customers more effectively. The expanded network of partners and programs
will position us strongly to lead in this market," outlined Ron Hanscome,
Oracle Corporation's Senior Director for HRM solutions. This strategy was
declared at the start of the Indian leg of the Asia Pacific-wide HCM Roadshow in
Mumbai.

Oracle is empowering the partner community to sell and deploy HCM products in
India as well as across the world by providing customized sales kits, training,
and engaging in joint marketing programs to increase market opportunities.
"We are also evaluating strategic tie-ups with HCM consultants with
country-specific HR expertise, as this will enhance our capability to meet
customer demands in India, " he added.

Oracle HRMS, a part of Oracle E-Business Suite, helps businesses and
governments manage people-related activities and assets, including
communication, collaboration, training and development, measurement, recruitment
as well as compensation. It is already fully compliant with Indian regulatory
requirements, in such areas as calculation of income tax, provident fund,
professional tax and arrears, thus can help Indian organizations adhere to a
