Orient Technologies: Expanding avenues

Fast growth coupled with recognition from the industry, has motivated Orient
Technologies to do even better. The company is now looking at exploring
international markets

Orient Technologies registered a 52 percent growth with its revenue touching
Rs 60.20 crore on the closing of financial year 2005-06. However in FY 2004-05
the company reported revenue of Rs 39.50 crore. The last fiscal saw Orient
getting its act right by putting an ERP in place. This helped the company to be
more productive and process driven. Company equipped its field staff with
laptops connected to the ERP solutions, which operate on a Citrix framework.

Taking the revenue part, a major portion of its revenue comes from facility
management services and almost an equal amount comes in from third-party
maintenance. Managed services contribute a quarter of its revenue. Almost 60
percent of its revenue comes from the West followed by South that is 26 percent.
North and East contribute 12 percent and two percent respectively.

During the last fiscal the company bagged major orders. The one much talked
about is setting up of an entire 1,300-seat call center at Mindspace in Mumbai.
Besides, it deployed its 40 engineers for the facility management project, which
it bagged from JP Morgan Chase and VSNL.

Besides upholding its expertise in the field of storage solutions, the
company also expanded its portfolio of solutions to make itself a complete
solutions provider. It added business continuity solutions and Linux-based mail
messaging solution to its expertise.

Orient Technologies received several recognitions from its principal vendors
including DQ Channels Excellence Award for being the Fastest Growing Solution
Provider in the country. Citrix honored Orient by felicitating it at the Asia
Pacific Awards for positioning new technologies for the company.

During the year, Orient added VMWare and Brocade to its list of
collaborations. Now with a whole lot of expertise, it is planning to explore
International markets. To start with, it will open a branch soon.

As of now the company is focusing on some of the pharma companies,
manufacturers, Internet service providers, banks and a large pool of small and
medium enterprises as its customer verticals.

For the current financial year, Orient is looking at sustaining the current
growth rate of 50 percent. Additionally, the company is also looking at
venturing in to B class cities across the country.
