As part of its
continuing effort to deliver in-depth knowledge in areas of critical interest,
Progressive Channels Association of Information Technology (PCAIT) conducted a
four-hour workshop last week on financial management for the channel community
of Delhi region.
“Financial management
is one of the critical areas where lots of big and small entrepreneurs don't
give the kind of time and effort that they probably should. This workshop will
help better equip them for handling financial details and accountancy for their
companies,” explained Daleep Bhatia, a Delhi-based chartered accountant who
made a presentation at the event.
This workshop was well
attended by almost 50 people from the channel community and is a part of a
series of four consecutive events being designed specially for the regional
channel community in order to provide them with the critical knowledge for
smooth running of their company's operations.

“We are quite pleased
to see this kind of enthusiastic response from the channel community over here.
As part of this effort, we would be conducting a similar workshop on 'working
capital' this Saturday,” informed RK Malhotra, President at PCAIT.
Pleased by the kind of
information given in this workshop, Aashish Maydeo from Amcan Technologies said
that this workshop has helped him understand the criticality of maintaining good
financial accounting. “I never knew the kind of details that have been given
today as part of this workshop. I think that this kind of focused gathering will
help the overall channel community towards better handling issues which are
otherwise neglected but are quite important for the day-to-day operations for
us,” he enthused.
Meanwhile, PCAIT also
conducted another workshop on working capital management recently. The workshop
attracted close to 40 channel players from the Delhi region. It was the second
workshop in a series of four events designed to equip the IT channel when it
comes to handling critical issues in finance. Speaking at the worÂkshop
Anshuman Shankar, VP-Business Banking at Yes Bank said that there are a lot of
things that bankers look for while lending money to prospects. “Lot of people
just believe that bankers look for profit and loss.
Well, it's more than just that. Most banks now look for
the operating profit, the cash profits and profitability versus tax
orientation,” he added. “These are typically the areas that are usually
overlooked by many of us channel players. So it is really good to know the
details of such critical issues from the experts of the industry,” explained,
Saket Kapur, MD, Green Vision. After having taken the responsibility of working
for the benefit of IT channel community, PCAIT has engaged itself towards
delivering knowledge on business critical topics such as financial management
and working capital management. The next in series workshop will focus towards
ratio analysis and fund flow
statements.
