PCAIT's day out at cricket match

Keeping in mind the
fast paced daily schedule of most channel players, the Progressive Channel
Association of IT (PCAIT) teamed up with Almasa and Maxtor and DQ Channels to
organize a one day fun fest involving a cricket match and a lot of fun-filled
activities for the channel community of Delhi region. 

The PCAIT 11 included
Sanjay Sachdev, Kapil Wadhwa, Vikram Gupta, Sanjay Mittal, Manoj Gupta, Sunil
Bansal, JP Bansal, Anuj Modi, Pankaj Bandlish and Kingshuk Sircar. The Maxtor 11
included - JP Modi, Yogesh Kamath, David, Asim Raina, Yogesh Joshi, Amit Rana
and Zia Askari. The event was well attended by prominent channel players of the
Delhi region including RK Malhotra, JP Modi, Devendra Taneja, JP Bansal, Sanjay
Sachdev and Kapil Wadhwa. 

Playing first and
helped by a blazing knock of 48 from Almasa's David. Maxtor Eleven scored 113
runs in the allotted Eleven overs. While PCAIT 11 needed more than 11 runs an
over to win the match, their uphill task was overburdened by a slow start given
by Vikram Gupta of Leading Edge. 

Even after losing five
wickets while chasing the difficult task of 114 in 10 overs, PCAIT team managed
to score only 90 runs. Hence it was a comfortable victory time for Maxtor
Eleven. 

With channel partners
not finding time for outdoor activities like cricket, this event presented an
apt opportunity for hidden players like Sanjay Sachdev to show some of his
golden touch. Playing for the PCAIT Eleven he scored a blistering innings of 25
runs, which included a six as well.

With the end of the
match came the prize distribution ceremony co-hosted by Asim Raina, Editor, DQ
Channels and Yogesh Kamath from Maxtor. Recognizing his magnificent knock of 48
runs David from the Maxtor 11 who came all the way from Dubai — was adjudged
man of the match. Other prize winners included, Kapil Wadhwa, JP Modi, Sanjay
Sachdev, Pankaj Bandlish and JP Bansal among others.

Cricket was not the
only agenda for the fun-filled day. There was a session of fortune telling as
well which attracted the non-sporting people. Senior industry people from
Devendra Taneja of PC Solutions to Kapil Wadhwa of Champion, all tried to have a
dekko into the future. 'Pundit Jii' with the help of his parrot was more
than busy reading cards and telling about what future held for people. Sanjay
Sachdewa and JP Bansal showed special interest towards this futuristic activity
as well. 

In keeping with its
true nature to involve women as much as men in the whole activity, there was a
'Mehendi' session happening while children were entertained with a 'Magic
show'. There was an array of outdoor game activities for them as well. 

The fun-fest, the first
of its kind organized by PCAIT, ended with lunch being served at the lush green
outfield at the end of the cricket match.
