Service is a cause of concern, not only for the end-consumers but for the
dealers as well. From the moment a dealer sells a PC or laptop, he also takes
charge of handling the service problems that a consumer might face in the near
future.
Keeping this in mind and to ensure better services, the Panipat Computer
Dealers Association (PCDA) has designed a strategy whereby they will give 10
service coupons for a sum of Rs 50 rupees to a consumer buying any product from
them. With this coupon, the customer can avail the service from any of the
dealers and need not go to the same dealer from whom he bought the product.
Talking about this initiative, Ajay Singla, President, PCDA said, “This is a
first-of-its kind initiative and we are the first association to adopt it. In
the event of some misunderstanding, if a consumer does not want to go to a
certain dealer, he can use the coupon to avail the facility from any other
dealer,” stated Singla.
With this coupon, he will no longer need to travel all the way to a dealer's
shop but instead will be able to get the issue sorted out from a nearby shop
itself. However, who will ultimately bear the cost of the services provided is
something that will be decided by the association internally.
