Pentagon Systems & Services : Back On Track

Mumbai-based Pentagon Systems moved from box selling to solution providing in
2007-08 and that decision helped the company recoup its revenues this year. The
company clocked a turnover of Rs 110 crore in 2007-08.

Pentagon tied up with American Power Conversion, Emerson Network Power,
SonicWall, IronPort and US-based Platespin. It invested in getting several
certifications; nine sales and technical certification for IBM xSeries, pSeries
and storage, and five sales and technical certifications for Platspin, VMware,
IBM Lotus Domino. Last fiscal, it set-up a 5,000sq ft data center for NCX, a
stock market and did software implementation projects for ICICI Bank, Jet
Airways and Autos Origin.

Of the total revenue of the Rs 110 crore in the last year, around 70 percent
of the revenue came from western region, 11 percent came from North, and the
rest came from South, with East chipping in with just one percent.

The current employee strength is 220 and the number may well rise up to
240-250 in the coming year.
