Having shifted from the box-pushing business to focus more on solution providing, Mumbai-based Orient Technologies has created a niche for itself in the storage solution space and maintained a consistent growth in drawing a major bulk of revenue from the same arena. The company's strength lies in the SMB segment, which contributed 40 percent over other customer verticals. This is followed by some good deals from the BFSI segment that contributed 30 percent to the overall revenue; logistics, IT/ITeS/Telecom and hospitality contributing about 10 percent each; and retailing and education segment has accounted up to five percent each.
Currently, with seven branch offices and 535 focused employees, Orient Technologies has always managed to ensure better customer support, betting high on its business and marketing strategy. In the fiscal year 2009-10, company has witnessed a turnover of Rs 105 crore as compared to the last fiscal year which accounted upto Rs 103 crore. The company offers a complete plethora of IT solutions starting from Intel server, enterprise servers, mail management, Citrix solutions, AMC, facility management, WAN and LAN services. Betting big in the market, the company has achieved an IBM Beacon award, which is considered to be worldwide prestigious award amongst IBM fraternity. Orient has also become Oracle OPN Partner for their database tools and has successfully implemented MS Navision as ourits ERP. The company has started remote infrastructure management (RIM )with its NoC carrying out 24X7 operations.
In line with its business strategy for the year 2009-10, Orient has bagged three major orders-Virtualization of services and storage contract from Crisil of about Rs 2.5 crore, WAN connectivity and security contract from Aegis Technology of about Rs 7 crore, and SAP Migration 7 Server Virtualization order from Eureka Forbes of Rs 3.25 crore. Also, the company has tied up with Kaseya and LPI for the Managed Services Business.
