Progression becomes HP's choice

At the recently held HP partner conference in Dubai, Gurgaon-based
Progression Infonet bagged the 'Best Technology Services Partner' award for
2007. Hemant Tewari, Head-Technology Solutions Group, India and Mike Bazely,
VP-HP Services, Asia Pacific and Japan, presented the award to JB Hooda, CEO,
Progression Infonet. It was received amidst the presence of more than 75
services and HP solutions partners.

The occasion was also marked by the presence of top management team of HP
services. "The recognition is a tribute to our dedication and commitment to
highest levels of customer orientation and their depth of skill sets in the
cutting edge technology solutions and services domain," said an overwhelmed
Hooda.

The company was also awarded with 'Innovative Excellence In Emerging
Technologies' category from Sun Micro System recently. Progression Infotech is
enterprise system integration organization, which focuses on technologies,
products and professional services that impact data center, server and storage
performance and utilization.

Progression has successfully implemented a GRID framework across a
heterogeneous (Windows and Linux) environment for executing serial as well as
parallel batch jobs. This deployment also has the implementation of concepts
like 'GRID-at-night', wherein the interactive PCs on which the users work during
the daytime working hours, get dynamically attached to the GRID during the
non-working hours of the organization, and batch jobs get allocated to them for
processing. Taking about this implementation Hooda said, "For the client,
this implementation has reduced capital expense by more than 75 percent, job
set-up time by 60 percent, has provided assured compute availability and has
saved additional investment into expensive hardware."

With its national footprint, Progression serves enterprise customers across
verticals like manufacturing, telecom, infrastructure, BPO/ITeS, research,
mechanical and electronic design automation. Progression helps organizations

Talking about the future plans, Hooda indicated that the company is planning
to open offices in Pune and Chennai. On being asked the reason why he has chose
these places, he said, "These two cities are the hubs for high-performance
technical computing (HPTC). We specialize in HPTC, and by having offices here,
we will benefit in a big way," he noted. The company already has a branch
in Bangalore.
