Puneet Singhal is Prez CMDA-Delhi

As Computer Media Dealers Association (CMDA) is all set to hold elections on
March 27, the association was expecting the young brigade to take over the
leadership. However, less number of nominations reflect that 'Gen Y' is not too
interested in the upcoming elections.

The executive posts would comprise of a President, two VPs, a Secretary, a
Treasurer and seven executive members. Only eight nominations have been filed
for seven executive posts so far. Besides, President Puneet Singhal and
Secretary Manoj Khanna will hold on to their respective posts as no one is
contesting them. The last date to file the nomination was Feb 28.

As far as fresh faces joining the association is concerned, the posts of VP
and Treasurer along with four of the seven executive posts will see a change in
leadership. Singhal said, "We wanted new faces to join the association but we
have not got a good response. So, after a series of discussion we decided to
take control of CMDA again. It is essential to ensure that the wisest people
take power to manage the association."

He also revealed why the Secretary, Manoj Khanna has been reelected. "Manoj
wanted to quit and pass on the responsibility to young people. But the
association members did not let him take this step.

We need such experienced members to make the association successful," said
Singhal.
