Pureview signs up technology changeover partners

LCD monitor manufacturer, Pureview Technologies, has signed Mumbai-based Allied Digital Services (ADS) as its technology changeover partner. In layman terms, this means that ADS can suggest its corporate customers to shift to LCD monitors, provided by Pureview as a replacement for the CRT monitors. These CRT monitors are then retained by Allied for further resale to another customer. The vendor is now on the lookout for more solution providers who manage corporate accounts, to offer similar services to their customers. 

"This scheme is unique, because the partner can go with a value proposition of getting corporate to upscale to LCD monitors, at a fraction of the price, since our models are the lowest-priced in the market. Also, they can take back the customer's CRT monitor and resell it, making it an additional revenue stream," says Dhananjay Shah, MD, Pureview Technologies. 

In addition to ADS, Pureview is also working with Alphabetics and Active Infocom for this venture. The company has a set of 12 corporate resellers and is looking at utilizing them to bring about the transition from CRT to LCD monitors among enterprises. "These partners have the option f working without any stock or exclusivity conditions," notes
Dhananjay.

Partners can also bundle Pureview's LCD monitors along with their own brand of cabinets and input devices to offer a PC for Rs 25,000. ADS is doing this with its Gateway PCS, as is Active Infocom with its Activa brand. Here partners can earn a margin of Rs 2,000, per monitor, according to
Pureview.

The vendor is also setting up its second manufacturing unit in Gujarat. Its first one is in Sri Lanka, which allows the company to enjoy the benefits of the free trade agreement existing between India, Sri Lank and Nepal. The Sri Lankan facility is currently empowered to manufacture 980 LCD monitors, per month. 

The new Indian facility will be used to cater to Pureview's export business of LCD monitors. "Some components for the monitors, like the basal panel, can't be manufactured in Sri Lanka efficiently. But the same can be done in India and at a competitive price. This is why we are going to use this edge to get a foothold in the overseas market as well," says Dhananjay. Pureview has already shipped its monitors to Spain, Tanzania and Dubai. "Exports are not our main focus, but it helps complement our local business, till we get good brand recall," he adds.

The company currently has 60 premium business partners in addition to it three distributors--Active Infocom, Datalarm and
Digitalways.
