Chennai-based system integrator Quadsel Systems has entered into the solution
space through their business management solutions. "We are getting into
mesh products and business management solutions is the beginning of our journey
into becoming a solution provider," said Girish Madhavan, CEO, Quadsel
Systems. Quadsel has begun training a set of people for almost eight months to
cater to the solution arena. "The transition cannot happen in a single day
as it is a niche segment and needs lot of training. So we choose a set of people
and began training them in various fields so that they are equipped to develop
solutions," informed Madhavan.
Though Quadsel has entered into the solution space, they would still focus on
the storage and security market. "We also have signed some new tie-ups with
vendors like Oracle and others are in the pipeline. A lot of new things are
happening in Quadsel and having entered the skilled development training, we
would train people who are in need of technical education," he added. At
present, Quadsel is conducting this training internally and proposes to take it
to various educational institutions across the state.
On the deviation from being a pure SI to a solution provider, Madhavan said,
"Customers expect a complete entire range of products from a single source
and they do not want to go in search of various sources for different products.
This was one of the primary reasons for us to get into the solution space.
Another major reason driving more number of people into the solution space is
the shrinking margins in hardware trade. There is too much of competition in the
market and one needs to possess a unique quality for surviving in the business.
Moreover, when we develop solutions by our own, the margins are also
better." The absence of quality players and lesser competition in the
segment is also driving the growth of opportunities in the solutions space and
Madhavan felt that a lot of players are not able to identify those areas, which
have more opportunities.
At present, Quadsel operates in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Trivandrum besides
Tamil Nadu. "We have also proposed to increase our headcount from four to
20 in the solution space thereby increasing overall technical expertise. Within
six months of time, we would be providing a complete range of products starting
from RIM," Madhavan indicated.
