Quantum appoints Redington as national distributor

Quantum Corp has appointed a new distributor, Redington India, a provider of
IT products in India. Redington, which operates from an extensive network of
local sales offices, will distribute Quantum's complete line of storage
products for backup, recovery and

archival.

This agreement with Redington reinforces Quantum's focus on driving growth
and promoting its new products throughout Asia and India. Quantum recently
announced the completion of its acquisition of Certance, a privately held,
global supplier of tape drives and data protection solutions. As a result of the
acquisition, Quantum will be the world's largest volume supplier of both tape
drives and tape automation (based on Gartner Corporation's published unit
shipment data for 2003).

"We're confident the newly combined company will offer customers of
all sizes an unparalleled range of backup, recovery and archive solutions ­
from tape drive and media technologies, autoloaders and libraries to disk-based
backup systems," said Quantum, Asia Pacific MD, Emil Kobylarz.

"The appointment of Redington strengthens Quantum's channel strategy
as we continue to expand our sales presence in the growing Indian market. We are
confident that together we will expand Quantum's product reach and increase
our marketshare in the Indian market," he added.
