Raksha Technologies to enter RIM space

Chennai : Security solutions provider Raksha Technologies is planning to enter the remote infrastructure management (RIM) and managed services space. The service would target the SMB customers predominantly.

"There wouldn't be any major investment for the set-up, as we aren't trying to create any special infrastructure for the service. We would like to manage the small network systems remotely from our existing infrastructure and are negotiating with the vendors for software licensing," informed V Anand, CEO, Raksha Technologies.

Claiming that selling security products have become more or less stable as the solutions have become easier to deploy, Anand said that there is a need to test different services. "We would like to test the water in different areas as things have become so stable that the customers don't want any special service for the solutions that they have become familiar with. Besides this managed services space, we would also like to focus more on solutions like data leakage prevention (DLP), application acceleration and SSL-based solution for the retail chains as the customer feels that these solutions have so much value," said Anand.

Application acceleration and SSL-based solution for the retail chains would bring down the response time between the client and server for the retail chains, which are having a centralized network. Remote filtering is another area where Raksha is trying to focus more, as the solution is also gaining much momentum among the enterprises. They have even tied-up with Microsoft Dynamics as an implementation partner for the lower mid market segment ERPs.

For the next fiscal, the company is planning to distribute Trend Micro Internet Security 2009 solution more aggressively. "Even in this time of recession, we couldn't see any declination in the security solutions business and this will continue to grow, as no companies would like to take risks by cutting down the security expenses. We would like to go more aggressively on the distribution of Trend Micro Internet Security 2009, which is going to be launched shortly in India through our channel partners in Tamil Nadu," Anand informed.
