Realtime Systems clinches contract with Nepal Telecom

Realtime Systems, the manufacturers of networking products recently bagged a
contract worth Rs.40 lakhs in Nepal. The deal was clinched with Nepal telecom
for deploying the lease line for their GSM based cellular network.

Talking about the deal Sanjay Mody, Chairman and Joint MD, Realtime Systems
said," It was for the third time that Nepal had invited us and we won a
tender and were able to fulfill their requirements within three weeks. At a time
when the tender was fiercely competed by other foreign players, what made Nepal
Telecom choose Realtime was our cost effective pricing."

He further added, "The cost of software abroad is high. Since we owned
the technology the above criteria improved Realtime's chances of wining the
deal."

According to Modi Realtime Systems had quoted the least price (40 lakhs),
whereas the second best bidder had quoted a price of 92 lakhs. A total of 11
competitors were vying for the same deal, including major players like Atrie,
Radcom and Patton.

In addition to this Realtime also plans to come up with private carrier low
cost routers. The company has plans to set up a manufacturing unit for the same
and a new site at Sitargunj in Uttrakhand has already been selected for the
same. Manufacturing at the above site will start from 2008and this will also
help Realtime to reduce the cost of the products due to lower taxes. With this
the company plans to foray into SMB and SME market in India and also export them
in the markets world wide, such as Europe, Middle-East. Also in the anvil are
UPS's, through which the company plans to tap the end users. "It is for the
first time we are foraying into selling a UPS and this is only for the Indian
markets," Modi indicated.
