Redington bags its first UTM appliance vendor

Mumbai: Redington India has been appointed as the value added distributor for
SonicWall's range of security and data backup and recovery solutions. The
distributor's immediate gameplan is to induct 45 new partners to sell the brand.

Currently, Redington has 10,500 partners in its network. Its Strategic
Business Unit pushes servers, security and networking products through a channel
of value added resellers and systems integrators targeting enterprise customers.
It has already partnered with Computer Associates, Symantec and Trend Micro in
the security space. The alliance with SonicWall will mark its first security
tie-up with a security appliance vendor.

Said Sasikant R, Strategic Business Unit Head, Redington India, "We expect
good uptake of SonicWall's products across the channel and hope to generate at
least Rs 7 crore in sales in the next nine months."

In an official statement PS Neogi, President, Redington (India) stated,
"As a values added distributor, Redington needed a product that will add
value to our current product portfolio. We see SonicWall's product line further
strengthening our presence in the security market. Our mandate will be to engage
in market development activity in the initial months."

Added Shubhomoy Biswas, Country Manager-India and SAARC, SonicWall, "The
market has grown for security appliances in leaps and bounds. The volume per
customer has increased along with the marketplace acceptance and trust for
SonicWall products. We are excited with this tie-up, as the potential is very
high. The depth, breadth and vast footprint that Redington brings to the table
will be of great value. They have an existing understanding of the security
market in India. SonicWall will deliver exciting and top-of-the-line products
and solutions for comprehensive network and email security, secure remote
access, and continuous data protection."

SonicWall and Redington will jointly conduct many seminars and events to help
educate and make resellers aware of UTM and how it is beneficial for end-users.
