Reliance launches enterprise broadband offerings

Reliance Infocomm has launched its broadband offerings under the "Reliance Broadband" brand. The services would initially be available in 30 cities and eventually be rolled out in 194 cities.

Reliance Infocomm President Prakash Bajpai says, "This is a one-stop shop for all kinds of services. Under this brand, enterprises will be offered all communication services that include voice, video and data,"

The company has already laid fiber optic lines in all 30 cities and is providing last-mile connectivity to around two lakh buildings and is expecting to rope in around million customers in these cities. It expects to have around seven million customers in 1.5 million buildings in all 194 cities, by December-end.

On the servicing front, Reliance is getting into Service Level agreements (SLAs) with enterprises. It claims to be ready to meet all SLAs, failing which it is ready to pay the penalty. On the voice front, the company is offering fixed line as well as mobile services. The data services being provided by the company will feature last-mile reduced to a few feet of CAT 5 cable, fiber to building and electronics placed in buildings.

The dedicated Internet access and services will feature combination of options like Metro Ethernet, Leased line, Fixed Wireless Terminal, PCMIA card or RIM, backend capacity with FLAG-peering with tier-one providers at multiple places and data centers on the Reliance network. 

The company's collaborative services will include audio conferencing, video, conferencing, video telephony and 'Netway'. The latter is a consumer broadband offering from Reliance, which will be available for consumers by the year-end.
