While Sai Infosystems' major revenue comes in from government business, it
is slowly trying to change that image by venturing into other hot verticals and
new geographical areas
Set up as a proprietary concern in 1992, Sai Infosystem (SIS), has today
grown into a major solution provider ready to take on the other big player
across the country. This year it made its entry in to the Silver Club for
Solution Provider category for the first time. With a total revenue of Rs 87.30
crore, the company has grown by 46 percent when compared to its previous years
revenue of Rs 60 crore.
While the company did not do any major project worth talking about, the rise
in its revenue is attributed at the repeat sales of hardware done to many of the
major projects deployed in the previous year. The company, which has seven
branches, mainly gets its business from oranizations like BSNL, Gujarat
Informatics, Gujarat Electricity Board, which are among its top clients. Almost
60 percent of its business comes from telecom segment and about 20 percent from
the power sector.

Infosystems also received the Jog Ratna Award.
This Ahmedabad-based company is one of those few solution providers in the
state, which has around 450 qualified professionals working in seven branches
and in its head-office. By concentrating largely on the government segment it is
ready to take up new challenges in other sectors as well.
For the current financial year the company has lined up ambitious plans along
with ambitious turnover target. It is planning to achieve revenue of Rs 150
crore in the next fiscal. It has plans of investment in branch office in the
Gulf. Right now it has customers from across 17 states. To support the
deployment, it has made 93 support centers.
The company has also got into retail activities in a big way. It has plans of
starting retail chain under the brand 'eMall' and a series of gaming zone by
the name 'eFun'. While targeting the end customers, these plans would
eventually mean a major expansion of its workforce as well.
Besides being a complete solution provider, SIS also manufactures PCs,
servers, laptops, UPS and routers under the brand name 'Sunny'. Named after
Sunil's son, its products are certified by respective vendors whose components
are used.
