Chennai: Storage product solution developer SANAT technologies, is happy
after the success of their launch of data storage solutions. V. Ramani, country
manager, marketing and sales, SANAT Technologies, claimed around 40
installations have been completed in six months since the launch. “Starting
from the inception of the company our storage solutions received phenomenal
response from the clients and we have managed to do a very good work within a
year.” Speaking about the USP of SANAT, he said, “All the major vendors are
using windows storage server, where as SANAT has used a segment called firmware
and has developed solution in Linux based system, which could run or accessed
through any operating systems. It is a Linux based solution and contains an
automated back up software, which can be directly stored from the desktop.”

SANAT technologies also announced their launch of new range of data storage
models here in Chennai. Partnered with Intel in a seminar for CTO's of various
organizations, SANAT announced the launch of new NAS and IPSAN models solutions
with an intelligent StorOS firmware with a capacity of 40 TB.

SANAT has installed projects in Pune, Bangalore and Jaipur and would set up
its offices in Delhi and Mumbai by the next year. The marketing strategy of
SANAT is through channels and it has roped with six partners across the country.
“We are completely installing our projects through our partners. We are fixing
various system integrators and solution providers who would cater to all
divisions of the market. The partners would be trained on installation, emerging
technologies, after sales service,” Ramani remarked.

SANAT Technologies has proposed to handhold the partners while installing the
project initially and entrust the total project to them after the channel gains
some amount of confidence and more in depth knowledge. “We have proposed to
tap the mid-market and SMB's as there is a huge demand for storage in those
areas, which would be cost effective for them. We along with channel have to
carry an integrated approach for deploying more number of projects,” he added.

Ramani accepted that branding and reach are the challenges lying ahead of
SANAT technologies but claimed that he had no apprehension and is confident of
gaining momentum as the earlier deployments have given more exposure and
experience. “Few customers feel that deploying an additional server would fit
the cause and believe it would be cost effective. However we have to prove that
deploying a proper storage solution would yield benefits both in performance and
cost as compared to buying an additional server,” Ramani asserted.

SANAT technologies has also proposed to increase their partner circle by
adding 10 more to their list by the end of 2007. According to Ramani, any
enterprise, which has more than two servers, should opt for a storage solution
for an optimal storage and to reduce the cost on more investments. SANAT is also
providing automated backup facility as an optional value added service for the
customers. On the road ahead, SANAT technologies would concentrate on developing
solutions for replication of data for data retrieval and archival of data for
data migration. “It would be an extra feature available on the box, he added.
