Sanvei Overseas bags Tamil Nadu contract

Sanvei Overseas, a system integrator in the field of information technology
and surveillance, has bagged the demo contract for setting up surveillance at
the different chungi check posts for Commercial Taxes Department, Tamil Nadu.

The state government aims to check pilferage and record the entry of all the
commercial vehicles for ensuring proper tax collections. Initially the contract
is for 11 locations. The solution for this pilot run will be an IP-based
solutions from Verint. Commercial Taxes Department had given the mandate of
technical and financial evaluation of the contract to ELCOT, the nodal agency of
Tamil Nadu Government.

The entire project will be based on IP CCTV cameras and video analytics from
Verint. The system will be capable of face recognition and number plate
recognition and can be easily integrated with other applications that can
estimate the tax revenue and match the tax collection challans with the
vehicular traffic. After the pilot run, video surveillance will be extended to
all the commercial check posts across Tamil Nadu.
