SCO, Datavision to provide integrated core banking solution

The SCO Group, a provider of UNIX software technology for distributed,
embedded and network-based systems, announced that the company is working with
DataVision Software Solutions, an affiliate of NextStep Infotech, the makers of
CheqMate branch banking software, to provide an integrated core banking solution
to the vast and expanding markets of Brazil, Russia, India and China, also known
as the BRIC markets.

DataVision and SCO are cooperating to provide the BRIC banking institutions
with a proven, reliable, and cost-effective solution stack for their banking
branches as they move from branch automation to core banking functions. The Core
Banking Solution Stack will include DataVision's DataMate solution running on
SCO UNIX and will be available in Q4 of 2006.

“This is a major design win for SCO. The BRIC markets are poised to see
major changes taking place among banking institutions during the next several
years. Critical to their success is having a proven, cost effective solution to
help them make the transition to Core Banking,” said Sandeep Gupta, GM and CTO
for the Platforms Division, The SCO Group.

SCO already has a large installed base of customers especially in the banking
and finance sectors, particularly in Russia, India and China. DataVision, a
developer of banking applications based in India, shares many of these same
customers. Together these companies will provide a world-class Core Banking
Solution Stack for the BRIC market.

“The Indian banking sector has gone through a variety of significant
changes in recent years due to advances in technology. But, the coming years
will prove to be some of the most important as the Indian banking sector is
poised for incredible growth,” said Sanjay Gupta, Country Manager, SCO India
and Southeast Asia. “This growth will result partly from computerization of
banking in rural areas at the branch level and will also include a significant
increase in ATM locations,” he said.
