Seagate 500GB hard drives powers Acer notebook

Seagate will be providing Momentus 5400.6 500GB hard drives to Acer Aspire
consumer notebook PCs, Acer TravelMate professional notebooks. Momentus 5400.6
500GB drive combines an areal density of 394 Gigabytes per square inch — with
a data transfer rate of 87 Megabytes/second.

Business Unit, Acer. "Seagate's new 500GB Momentus hard drive enables Acer to

notebook computers," he added.

Momentus 5400.6 HDD, the
fourth generation of Seagate's notebook family uses capacity-boosting
Perpendicular Magnetic Recording technology, Serial ATA 3GB/second interface and
capacities of 500GB, 320GB, 250GB, 160GB and 120GB with 8MB of cache.

Momentus 5400.6 hard drive is
offered with G-Force Protection, a free-fall sensor technology that helps
prevent drive damage and data loss upon impact if a notebook PC is dropped.
