Seagate increases support centers, introduces mobile service vans

Seagate Technology will expand its service network by increasing the number
of its SeaCare centers from 32 to 43 across the country. Of the 32, 11 are in
class B and C cities. It also launched two mobile service vans, which will
provide customer support services at the main tech-markets in New Delhi and
Mumbai.

The SeaCare centers provide more responsive after-sales services, ease of
access to warranty support and disc drive replacement to end-users in India.
Trained Seagate staff mans the centers. With an increased service network, it is
now more accessible to its users from smaller cities.

The new SeaCare centers are located in Jammu, Dehradun, Ludhiana, Shimla,
Karnal, Agra, Jodhpur, Surat, Patna, Goa and Bhopal. Sharad Srivastava, Country
Manager for Seagate in India said, "We continue to add value to our support
services to better serve Indian users of our hard drives,". It is also
targeting to augment post-sales support by enhancing its current service
program.

Coming to SeaCare vans, they pick up faulty Indian warranty support drives
and deposit them at the support centers. They will initially ply at Nehru Place,
Wazirpur and Laxmi Nagar in New Delhi for free pickup at specified timings. The
drives are replaced within two-four working days of submission, about which the
user will be intimated through telephone.

Prior to submitting faulty drives, the user has to follow a simple procedure
in which a Return Material Authorization (RMA) is taken from the Seagate
website, followed by drive submission in SeaXare van. Accel ICICM Systems and
Services operate the latter.

Mahinder Aggarwal, President, Delhi Computer Traders Association, said,
"Dealers and end-users will benefit through timely repair of hard disks by
these vans."
