Seagate introduces 5-year warranty on internal HDDs

Seagate Technology has introduced a five-year warranty, effective immediately, on every internal PC, notebook and enterprise hard drive shipped through its distribution and retail channels throughout the world. The new warranty applies retroactively to applicable hard drives shipped since June 1, 2004.

Seagate's VP of Global Marketing, Jeff Loebbaka says, "Success for our channel partners and customers is critical to Seagate's success; the new five -year warranty enables our channel partners to sell the best drives to their customers and minimizes the cost and time they spend on warranty related issues. Seagate channel customers have made it clear that this five-year warranty protection will improve their ability to be successful."
