SecureSynergy begins four-city event

Bangalore: SecureSynergy, provider of information assurance solutions is
conducting a four-city customer event in order to meet with and educate
customers on the latest trends in information security. The theme of the event
is: "Building Secure InfoStructures" and the Bangalore chapter of the
event was held in the city on 4th December. The other three cities where the
event is being held are Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai.

Giving details of the event Ajit Pathak, Country Manager - Sales Operations,
SecureSynergy said, "This is basically a customer event whereby we hope to
educate customers on the latest trends and technologies in the information
security space."

"The information security market in India is booming and the drivers for
this market growth have been globalization, regulation, compliance, outsourcing,
mergers and acquisitions and business process decoupling. Customers today are
looking at solutions that match global standards and security policies are being
framed in tune with the business models that organizations operate with," he
added.

Indicating that BFSI, IT/ITES and Government is a big growth area for
SecureSynergy, Pathak said that retail, telecom and pharma would be the other
verticals of focus that promise good growth. Stressing that channel partners
have to look at the customer business models and provide solutions in sync with
that, Pathak said that the channel must focus on providing more holistic
solutions rather than point products. "We would enable them and do needed
hand-hold in the form of training in order to help partners scale to meet up
customer demands," he added.

Commenting on the trends in the information security space Pathak said, "In
the cyberspace, across market verticals from SOHO to enterprise the need for
security is the same, the exposure to threats and vulnerabilities are the same.
However the awareness as regards information security is still low. While most
large enterprises have dedicated teams to manage security, SMBs are looking at
putting policies in place as far as information security is concerned."

As for future trends, Pathak indicated that outsourcing security would become
a key trend. "Customers can build competencies on their own or employ managed
security service providers (MSSP) to do manage. Here again MSSP can mange the
security infrastructure on site or offsite," he added.
