New Update

It was a challenging year for SES Technologies. In 2005, Sahara Computers and
Electronics, a joint venture partnership between Sahara Computers and Sahara
India Pariwar, acquired SES. Around that time Sahara officials had stated that
the management of distribution house would not change, but over the last two
years, there were several changes in the management level. In 2006 Kurian Chandy
was brought on board as CEO and earlier this year was replaced by Kamran Gani as
the new MD. George Van Der Merwe of Sahara Computers took the reins as COO of
SES.

Last year, SES faced a ban in Panipat over service related issues for which
the company took quick steps to resolve the problem. But the channel did take a
beating with this incident and the changes in the management did not help
either.

Despite these and other hardships, SES managed to post a turnover of Rs 802
crore in 2007-08, up from 21 percent over the previous year's revenue of Rs 662
crore.

The company was appointed the exclusive national distributor by Asus for its
entire product range comprising PC components like motherboards and graphic
cards as well as LCD monitors and notebooks.

    peripherals and HP storage range

To build a loyal community of focused Intel channel partners, SES conducted
channel meets in Jabalpur, Rajkot, Madurai, Siliguri, Jamshedpur, and Mangalore.
This also marked the company's move to penetrate further into C-class cities.
