Simmtronics on expansion spree

In the first phase of its expansion, Simmtronics Semiconductors has announced
the setting up of sales and service support offices in 10 more cities, including
B and C class cities.

Besides the existing facilities at Delhi, Mumbai and Pune, the new offices
will be set up in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Ghaziabad,
Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur and Kolkata by the end of February, 2008.

In the second phase, planned for March 2008 onwards, the firm plans to set up
offices in seven more cities taking the total count of its network offices in
India to 20.

"There are about 61 B and C class cities in India which, besides metros,
hold immense business potential in the days to come. As we foresee a significant
increase in the demand for all our products in the immediate future, it makes
perfect sense for us to further our presence and set up offices in territories
unrepresented," said Indrajit Sabharwal, MD, Simmtronics Semiconductors.

Currently, the company is targeting the sale of 90,000 memory units and about
30,000 units of Motherboards every month.

The firm also announced that it will do away with the traditional distributor
model and will have 800 direct billing partners (DBPs) under its fold -
reporting to its network offices across the country.
