Sinfor sets up Indian operations

In order to expand their international business, Sinfor Technologies, a
Chinese network equipment supplier, is looking to tie-up with channel partners
across India. It has appointed Mumbai-based Mehta Infotech as its national
distributor and is now looking at appointing reseller partners across New Delhi,
Bengaluru and Chennai among others. Having entered India in 2008, Sinfor is
looking to tap customers in the large enterprises including government,
corporate, educational and financial institutions among others. As part of its
product portfolio Sinfor will be offering SSL VPN, IAM (Internet Access
Management) and WAN optimization products and solutions.

Talking about its go-to-market strategy and channel expansion plans, Eric
Wong, Regional Manager, Sinfor Technologies stated, “We have been an innovation
oriented company and have been leading in China in product categories including
SSL VPN and Internet access management. We are looking to invest $2 million in
India and will expand our operations in international.”

Sinfor has already appointed partners in Mumbai including LDS Infotech,
Micropoint, Infonet and Nisec among others. Apart from imparting technical
training to the partners, the vendor will also provide certificates to the
partners who successfully complete the training process. Some of Sinfor's
clients in India include Tata Communication for IAM solutions and HDFC.
