SITA appoints new committee members

South Gujarat Information Technology Association (SITA), the association for
IT-channel partners in Surat conducted elections for seven seats for its
committee members after three years; there were 12 nominations for the seven
seats in consideration.

Ketan Patel, President, SITA said, “We have made our election process more
transparent this year. Every member was allowed to vote, which was recorded
through a software. Out of our 213 members, only 108 participated in the
elections and they unanimously voted for the seven new committee members. We had
12 nominees from which we had to choose only seven. All are happy and satisfied
with the results.”

Commenting on the other activities that the association is holding currently,
Pinakin Patel, Joint Secretary and newly appointed committee member said, “We
have been working on the anti-piracy campaign in association with Microsoft
since some time now. We would be participating in more such campaigns
aggressively in future also, to promote original software as it provides us good
margins,” added.

Expressing his joy over the newly appointed committee, Patel further added,
“I am very proud to be elected as a committee member. Out of the seven newly
elected committee members, three were serving the committee earlier also and
were re-elected.”
