Salem: For the seventh year in a row, Salem IT Association (SITA) is organizing a three-day expo at Sumangali Thirumana Mandapam, Salem, from Dec 25-27. The association plans to invite Salem Collector J Chandrakumar, IAS, for the inauguration.
SITA has planned for 60 stalls, of which 56 stalls are already booked. The association expects the expo would register business worth Rs 50 lakh, with footfall of 30,000.
Visitors are expected from the nearby towns-Namakkal, Salem, Athur, Thiruchengodu, and Dharmapuri. Last year, the expo registered total business worth Rs 50 lakh, featuring 60 stalls.
All leading companies, including Samsung, Epson, Dell and Lenovo, are participating in the expo through their partners in the region.
Elango, CEO, United Computers and President of SITA said, “We always organize the expo during end of Dec to cash in on the New Year, Christmas, and Pongal festive moods. This year too, I believe, the season would have a positive impact on sales and the expo would be a grand success.”
“In addition to creating a profitable platform for the partners, we are planning to create awareness on new technology by featuring latest products in the stalls,” he added.
Maniganda Srinivas, Chairman of the Expo and CEO of Shrinivas Systems, said, “We are putting in all efforts to make this expo a grand success. We expect an increase of 20-30 percent in sales than last year.”
Ranjit, Co-Chairman of the Expo, mentioned, “The expo will feature security systems and VoIP phones, in addition to all other latest products. We believe the sales of laptops will surpass desktops, as laptops are the in trend.”
The association is planning to allocate separate space in the expo to display computers from first generation to the latest ones.
