Six laptops stolen from Mumbai's Laptop Point

Mumbai: Even a month after the theft at Andheri-based Pacific Technologies' retail store, Laptop Point, the local police have been unable to track the thieves. Following this Proprietor of Laptop Point Alok Singh brought the matter to the notice of TAIT (Trade Association of Information Technology).

Talking about the theft, Alok Singh elaborated, “On the night of June 25, thieves broke into my retail outlet situated in Andheri and scampered away with six laptops. Following the incident, I lodged a complaint at the Andheri (East) police station (FIR no- 266/09). However, even after a month, the police have failed to track the thieves. I have now informed TAIT of the robbery and requested the association to inform all its members so that they can in turn inform, if they come across any person trying to sell the stolen models.”

The models that have been stolen from the retail store include Acer 4730 S/N LXTQC01784212-DBE160 1, HCL Mileap S/N 2094AX273245, Lenovo S/N EB10476169, HCL MTV S/N3094AX297818, Acer Aspire One S/N L05570BZ779130AF371 601 and DEll Vostro 860 Service tag : D00Z6H1.

Singh further shared, “Initially when the police was chasing the case, they had detained two of my security guards.”

When contacted, Anees Khalfay, President, TAIT, informed The DQ Week, “We received the communication from Pacific Technologies on July 3. We have circulated the details of the stolen laptops amongst our members and requested them to inform us in case anyone tries to sell the stolen products to them.”
