SNR Electronics launches 'Markson' brand of consumer electronics

In its bid to offer the end-consumers better quality at affordable price, SNR
Electronics, owners of Markson brand, a house of consumer electronics and home
appliances unveiled its new range of consumer products comprising DTH, Color
Televisions, LCD TV, Laptops, Desktop, Home theatre and DVD. The company will
take channel route to market and drive its products and has close to 2000
channel partners, out of which 200 odd partners sell laptops and desktop.

Talking about the competition from major vendors in the laptop and desktop
space, Sunil Wadhwani, CEO, SNR Electronics stated, "We are not looking to
compete with major vendors in this space as they are already well-established
whereas we have just entered the market. We would observe the market closely and
try and grab a decent market share. Since we are providing these products at
affordable price range and with zero compromise on quality, the consumers will
definitely look to buy our products."

The entry level laptop from Markson is valued at Rs 25000 whereas the hi-end
laptop is valued at Rs.40000. Talking about the retail tie-ups, Wadhwani
elaborated that they had no plans to enter retail chains like Chroma, Reliance
at the moment. Instead, the company will have their own showrooms in place. SNR
has already also opened five of its own showrooms under the brand Markson in
Delhi. The company will be showcasing all its products will offer schemes to
lure the end-consumers. Talking about the service he mentioned that we have a
24hour service facility and the distributor franchise will offer support in the
far-flung areas.

The company has set up three factories at Baddi, Parwanoo and Haridwar. While
these manufacturing units will take care of the manufacturing of TV, home
systems, the company will be importing laptops and desktops from China. In
addition to this being a north India based company; SNR will first look to
expand in North and then east followed by Maharashtra and Gujarat in the west
and Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka in south.
