SP Summit Day 2: VK Sharma from Guj Info Petro highlights 'Innovation in Governance'

VK Sharma, CEO and director of Guj Info Petro, talked on 'Innovation in Governance' wherein he shared the company's innovative solutions developed and deployed for the betterment of the masses.

Sharma started off his presentation by pointing out interesting aspect on naming of mobility OS with that of fruits and food preparations. Further, he talked about the evolution of technology and the emergence of mobility devices.

Sharma further highlighted upon Guj Info Petro's innovative solutions based on mobility devices and other services offered by the organization.

Sharma shared various projects and solutions developed by the company along witg examples of projects completed like GIS Integrated Forest Management Information system with Mobile Support which provided PDA based tracking and surveillance system. Another project shared with the audience was that of a solution available on table which can be used to monitor crop cutting and related activities. In another example, Sharma showcased a project done for Gujarat government for a particular scheme wherein the government offered concessions to people for creating ponds. He stated, "We developed a solution for tablet devices, wherein a person can monitor various aspects pertaining to this project and also it introduces transparency in the system."

Going ahead, Sharma talked about Gujarat government's focus on growth and development of new and emerging technology areas. He said, "It has been increasingly using the ICT to offer citizen based service as per convenient location with an initiative to improve the reach, make services more transparent and reduce response time with reducing costs. Furthermore, the government is also proactive in its initiatives and ranks first state in the country to have made e-Governance functional in all its Municipalities and Municipal Corporations." Sharma also shared various related projects commenced and executed by the government of Gujarat.
