Solution Champ: Par Data Systems
Bengaluru-based Par Data Systems did not have exponential growth in the year 2013 but they could successfully put up 15% growth in the revenues, over that of 2012-13. In big projects it provided end-to-end solutions, structured cabling gave Par Data revenue worth 50-60 lakh rupees. They did around hundred projects in structured cabling this year. ‘TE Connectivity' is their SCS Vendor for its cabling solutions for the past 15 years, and it also offers ‘Fluke Networks' products that include LAN Installation Tools and Certification Gadgets. According to Par Data Systems among all product or solution segments in the IT Hardware, the only growing sector year after year is Networking, according to the statistics. Today one finds cabling activity from home (Fiber to the home and LAN in Home) to an enterprise. The plug and play offices being the style of big businesses, the cabling solutions are eternal and people having enough of skill sets and capabilities always keep having their share. Par Data plans to get into AV Solutions and target working towards fulfillment of enterprise customers in a big way. Besides, it is also planning to open an academy for training fresh graduates & diploma holders in pure IT Infrastructure Science and run hands on sessions extensively.

Exelan Networking Technologies
Chennai-based Exelan Networking Technologies did not witness much growth this current fiscal. It grew by only 3-5% in structured cabling. It earned around revenue worth seventy crore rupees in structured cabling this fiscal. It took up several large projects where it provided end-to-end solutions in structured cabling and this was around twelve. The company expected to undertake more such large ventures but slow market growth hindered their expectations. Cost involving large projects were two crore rupees while several small projects ranging between 10-12 lakh rupees were undertaken. This year saw no major tie-ups in structured cabling. However, following year Exelan Networking Technologies plans to grow by 20-30%. The reason being it will take up government and finance sectors and spread its foothold in these two sectors further. Previously it had more projects with industrial sector. But by increasing its market reach Exelan plans to play big role in banks and government sectors. Some of the companies that Exelan worked with this year were Axis Bank and P&G.

Konnet Solutions
This small Pune-based SI has been fighting off much bigger competitors, thanks to its recent focus on intelligent video surveillance backed up by a subsidiary company that develops software applications to enable the technology. However, structured cabling still provides the bread and butter with Konnet boasting of leading vendors like TE Connectivity, Systimax and R&M amongst its principals. For many end-to-end infrastructure projects, Konnet has been bagging the passive part of the deal. Initiatives like taking potential clients through PoCs at existing customer setups and even preparing a full raceway cable layout for the client free of cost, that too before bagging the project have helped Konnet gain grounds. The Rs 1 crore project with Mumbai-based Toyo Engineering bagged against Wipro a year back was one such marquee deal.Proactive Data Systems

Proactive Data Systems
Key strategic decisions coupled with luck factor, Delhi-based Proactive Data Systems-an emerging networking, structured cabling and unified communications solution provider--grew by 10 percent in the financial year 2013 and generated Rs 58 crore. Structured cabling segment formed 25 percent of the total revenues.
With ongoing economic crisis and companies cutting cost for expenditure, Proactive was lucky enough to get some of the long overdue projects cleared. Also, major refreshes from ITes sector gave an impetus to the growth of the company.
Strategically, it focused mainly on diversifying its verticals from usual ITes to education, healthcare and little bit of manufacturing widening its presence by betting high on brands like Cisco, EMC, NetApp among other. In the lines of diversification it deployed major solutions in Shiv Nadar University in UP, Appollo Hospitals and World Bank office in Delhi.
Systematic India
As market requirement was very minimal Systematic India experienced not much growth in structured cabling segment. Its major projects earned around 50-60 lakhs revenue. Defense continues to be its main stronghold and this year too its major projects were carried out int his sector. Around five projects were completed in this segment which consisted about 30-50 lakh rupees.
