Kolkata-based Supertron Electronics has joined hands with AnexTEK to
distribute its products in India. AnexTEK is the wholly owned-subsidiary of
Taiwan-based Wistron Group. With this partnership, SEL would increase its
presence in the India market.
This tie-up will help SEL to extend its product offering-Supercomp digital
video recorder (DVR) solutions, launched recently, into the domain of storage
and surveillance. "This is a new domain for us. The Supercomp range of DVRs
will cater to the entry and mid-level market segments, while the AnexTEK product
range will cater to the high-end market segment at an economical cost,"
said Sudipto Gupta, Head-Enterprise Application Vertical, SEL.
SEL is hoping to capture the entire surveillance market including, market
places, malls, retail stores, hotel and hospitality sector, banking and finance,
hospital, ports, etc. "The market is pretty big and absolutely untouched.
We are thus fully prepared to explore the opportunity," stated Gupta.
According to him, the wide range of products that AnexTEK has to offer in the
domain of storage and surveillance will further strengthen SEL's position as a
vendor catering to this vertical. "Along with the Supercomp DVR range,
AnexTEK will provide us the opportunity to serve our partners with a complete
solution for security and surveillance products," he said.
Considering it to be a early stage, SEL has started marketing for AnexTEK
products across South and North India. The company is planning to enter into the
western and eastern markets gradually. "South being the most technically
advanced region in India, the market is quite promising there. Similarly, Delhi
being the Indian capital, there's a large requirement of surveillance and
storage products in North. Hence, we have decided to start our activity in these
regions first," informed Gupta.
Apart from its regular IT channel partners, SEL has also enrolled a number of
CCTV partners across South to market AnexTEK products. In the next six months,
the company is looking to add around 800 such partners all across to have a
broader reach. "Our motto is to create a large footprint of customers
across India by creating a large network base across the country for which, we
are adding up more partners to sell the surveillance solutions," informed
Gupta.
