Touted as the undisputed leader of Kolkata IT hardware market, Supreme made
major changes to its business strategies in 2005-06
Since its inception in 1995 perhaps the last financial year (2005-06) was the
most significant period for Supreme Technologies - it was the year of revision
and repositioning of its business strategies. This leading disti of Kolkata too
couldn't ignore the retail bang, consequently joined the retail bandwagon
after making some strategic decisions.
Last November Supreme undertook a major strategical move in its business
operation as it had re-structured its company module and business structure.
Following this the company ventured into distribution and retail business.

To handle both the busines efficiently, Supreme broadly divided its business
activities into two divisions. A new division 'Supreme: The IT Mall' was
created to take care of the entire retail business activities. However, another
division, Supreme Technologies Pvt Ltd has been given the responsibility of
entire volume business of the company, which includes distribution,
sub-distribution and other channel related activities.
Supreme recently renovated existing showroom and gave a new look to match its
new identity. The multi-branded showroom has been conceptualized to cater to the
end users, especially the fast growing SOHO and SMB sector along with the home
users.
Supreme also added many more product verticals in its portfolio last FY. It
tied-up with Sony, E-scan, LG and Ablerex to distribute their various range of
products. The company also ventured into a new field of business activity as it
started its bit on networking products with Linksys and TVS Net.
Though Supreme is focusing on retail in a big way the company is working hard
to maintain its image of a sub disti. With a strong dealer and reseller base,
Supreme undoubtedly rules the market of Kolkata and nearby regions. Supreme is
at the same time keen to enhance its role as a retailer. It plans to convert
Supreme IT Mall into a retail chain. The company is all set to come up with an
IT mall in one of the prime locations of city. This IT Mall will have different
dedicated floors and divisions for different segments. It has further plans to
open up three more retail stores in various other locations across the city.
