'Sustain Today, Build Tomorrow' Emphasizes PCAIT

Progressive Channels Association of Information Techno­logy (PCAIT) triggered
off its first activity of the year by organizing a meet that was focused on
sustaining growth for the channel partners during time of slowdown. The theme of
the event was 'Sustain Today, Build Tomorrow'.

While addressing the members at the event, Pradeep Gupta, Publisher, DQ
Channels and Chairman, The Indus-Valley Entrepreneur (TIE), Delhi Chapter
highlighted the strategies to promote entrepreneurs in the IT space. Gupta spoke
about the possibilities of developing a relationship between TIE and PCAIT.

While addressing the members at the event, RK Malhotra, President, PCAIT
said, “Over time, the activity level in PCAIT has been slightly low and in line
with the current environment, today's event is focused on surviving the current
torrent and carrying on afterwards.”

The key speakers of the event were Kapil Dev Singh, Country Manager, IDC
India; Nitin Shah, MD Allied Digital and Prasanto Kumar Roy, Chief Editor, DQ
Channels.

Singh from IDC mentioned in his presen­tation that India is the fastest
growing market in the APAC region and all the promoted solutions should enable
optimum utilization of the available technology.

Sharing the forecast of the year ahead, he projected, “Telecom will grow as a
potential vertical, new value proposition will witness the beginning of channel
evolution, experi­mentation with cloud computing model will increase but would
not become mainstream, and infrastructure management will grow.”

“Partners should identify the potential areas like telecom, e-governance,
service security and their own niche areas and plan their business strategies
accordingly. The hot products like portable devices and notebooks, and solutions
like green technology should be promoted in the market in order to generate more
benefit,” Roy of DQ Channels said.

The event, which saw attendance by more than 100 channel partners of Delhi,
was held in association with Zyxel and Unistal.
