Having established a strong presence in the Indian barcode solutions business
over the last three years, US-based Symbol Technologies is now looking at
appointing more partners to sell its range of other enterprise mobility
solutions. This will include a portfolio of mobile computing devices, WLAN and
RFID solutions.
In addition to the five business partners that the company has, it is now
looking to add up to 15 solution partners as well. "We are currently
working on a comprehensive channel strategy for the Indian market and believe
that this is just the right time for the demand of our solutions to take
off," said Amit Phadnis, MD, Symbol Technologies, India.
According to the company's Channel Account Manager, Albert Vinod Samuel,
existing partners who were so far selling the barcode solutions, will continue
to act as business partners while new players including the likes of large SIs
like Wipro, HCL and Infosys may be roped in to sell the remaining solution set.
The company has already tied up with Daxler Solutions as its solution partner.
Over the last three years, Symbol has done a business of nearly $5 million
and expects to record a turnover of $3 million in the current fiscal. "We
expect to see some good business for our ruggedized mobile computers, coming
from companies adopting Sales Force Automation (SFA) solutions," remarked
Amit.
