Kolkata: After foraying into channel-based markets in early 2009, Syntensia has finally entered North Bengal in the UTM space and has appointed Vohra Brothers as its distributor for the region.
Since its inception in 2005, the company has been doing direct marketing. However, company sources suggested that Syntensia has now ventured into the channel space and will be taking up the regional distributor model for its products.
Anju Sharma, Marketing Head-East, Syntensia said, “So far we have been focusing on just direct marketing. But, looking at the vast potential of channel space in India, we decided to go for channel-based marketing policy.”
Having developed three primary UTM-based security applications, the company is looking forward to establishing its channel base there and catering to the markets in North Bengal, Sikkim and Bhutan.
“We have primarily three products in our portfolio catering to the needs of the SMB and SOHO segment. Our product caters to the primary security needs of the SMB sector in particular and allows control of intra-LAN, PIN management, broadband allocation and load balancing,” Sharma added.
Over the appointment of Vohra Brothers as regional distributor in Siliguri, Sharma stated, “While we have decided to enter the channel space and venture into appointing distributors, various concerns are there to be taken care of. Vohra Brothers has a good track record in the market, which has been the primary criteria in their appointment. Also, they are aggressive in the field of marketing.”
Amit Vohra, Proprietor, Vohra Brothers said, “We have been working in hardware field for long and have a strong presence. Now, we decided to explore the software space in security solutions. It's a security-on-demand facility that Syntensia is offering for the SMB user and we aim to penetrate markets in northern Bengal, Sikkim and Bhutan.”
Presently, Vohra Brothers is trying to capture the small corporate segment including IT education institutes, hotels, banks and retail outlets.
Talking about the future plans, Sharma stated, “For the entire eastern region, we are soon going to appoint a regional distributor. We also have enormous investment plans for India. Additionally, we are going to launch new products and will be upgrading the existing product editions by July.”
