Bharat Net Phase 1 is Finally Over; connects 1.1 lakh villages

The completion of phase 1 of National Optic Fiber Network, re-christened as BharatNet, was announced by Aruna Sundararajan, secretary, Dept of Telecom in the presence of Manoj Sinha, India’s telecom minister; and Sanjay Singh, CMD, Bharat Broadband Nigam Ltd, the nodal agency driving BharatNet
