TAIT to conduct international IT expo in November

After having diligently refused to organize an IT expo, the
Trade Association of Information Technology (TAIT), Mumbai is finally planning
something big. However, instead of holding a local level IT expo, which is a
norm, the association is planning to organize an International IT expo.

Scheduled sometimes in November, this would be a first of its
kind event in the country. The association's first ever expo would involve
vendors and partners from across the world. According to Champakraj Gurjar,
Chairman, TAIT, the expo would be modeled on the various International IT expos
held worldwide.

Champakraj said, "Everyone is aware about the huge
business potential of India's IT sector. But sadly, unlike countries like
Taiwan and Singapore, India does not have a common event platform where foreign
vendors get to interact with domestic partners. So instead of organizing a local
level expo, we are planning to organize an international expo, where IT partners
and vendors can come and participate under one roof."

According to Champ-

akraj, the association is yet to decide upon the venue for organizing the event
and is planning to outsource the arrangements to any of the event management
companies. It is being estimated that the costs for holding such an expo would
be considerably high. Speaking about this, Champakraj said, "It is true
that the costs for organizing an expo on such a big scale would be very high
that is why we are inviting sponsorships and participation from all the big
vendors."

When asked how the local partners will participate in the
expo considering the estimated stall price are going to be high Champakraj said,
"We are aware that the local partners might not be able to pay the same
amount, which the international vendors are likely to spend. The cost of these
stalls will vary depending upon the location and the space allocated."
