Tally signs up 23,000 CAs to recommend its ERP solutions

Mumbai: Tally Solutions has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICAI, wherein all its 23,000 certified chartered accountants (CA) will recommend its ERP packages to small business houses. “These CAs act as a consultant to small companies to ensure they adhere to statutory guidelines when it comes to auditing practices. Our ERP packages have a built-in audit tool. We have given special Tally versions to them which they can showcase to their customers,” said Shoaib Ahmed, Member-Central Leadership Team, Tally Solutions.

Tally has direct engagement with CAs and all the sales leads will be passed to Master Tally Partners (MTPs) who can then customize the solution according to the client's requirements. The company currently has 140 MTPs and 7,000 TPs.

While Tally entered into the alliance with ICAI in September last year, the process got a push this year as accountants have started their auditing procedure in January 2009. Ahmed stated that so far Tally has seen a 20 percent additional increase in its ERP sales, courtesy this initiative.

Talking about the benefits of recommending Tally to their customers, he added that since the software has an audit tool, it helps him to do his job effectively. “This aside, they will get a start to offering consulting services to their customers for a fee. In mature markets like the UK, all CAs have grown their business into an IT practice as well. With our initiative, their Indian counterparts can also start doing the same.”

Earlier, Tally was offering its customers vanilla accounting packaging. Now it has enhanced this package with payroll, inventory, job costing, remote services, etc for the SMB segment. There is an updated version with more functionalities, for mid-sized business with over 10 users, which is called the Tally Gold. Later this year, it will launch the Diamond version which is for 100 users.

“All these products will be sold through our existing channel. We have designed the product in such a manner that it's implementable from day-one. There are various modules within, which can be customized by SPs and is a fairly simple job,” informed Ahmed.
