Targus Technologies: A steady performer

Targus Technologies registered a robust growth in government, defense and
telecom sectors during the last fiscal. The company is now looking forward to
achieving Rs 100 crore target this year

Chartering a steady growth path Targus Technologies has remained quite active
in servicing defense and government clientele. While the company made an
impressive breakthrough in telecom sector by becoming Nokia consortium partner
for the execution of all BSNL projects in syndication with mobile phones giant,
Targus also became all the more aggressive in network integration domain to
outshine big time players. The company ventured into network integration space
by becoming a Cisco Systems premier partner. To do more serious business in
networking space it will shortly initiate its NCR branch in Gurgaon that will be
dedicated purely to network integration deals. Recently, Bharti Televentures
also awarded hardware and network integration order worth Rs 15 crore to Targus.

The company's turnover spiraled by 18 percent with the overall revenue
turnover for the fiscal year 2005-06 touching an impressive figure of Rs 65
crore. Attributing solutions and servicing as the major growth drivers for its
flourishing business Targus Technologies is now yearning to achieve Rs 100 crore
mark as this year's turnover.

During last year Targus managed to grab hold of two crucial defense projects
which comprised of setting up the entire LAN environment for army's two new
commands namely - South Western Command in Jaipur and 9 Corps in Dharamshala.

Apart from execution of various government projects, last fiscal Targus also
took a very decisive decision to enter location-based services arena, the field
that is hotting up in India with every passing day. In order to make more
inroads into geographical information systems (GIS) domain, Targus is mulling
over joining forces with various international players. Currently, the company
is running several GIS pilot projects in conjunction with service providers.

Apart from the usual business Targus is laying an equal focus on providing
innovative solutions to its SMB/E customers. In line with this the company has
executed some very interesting projects like conceptualization of smart office
and smart homes, wherein everything is automated and remotely controlled.
