New Update

Tera Software registered a 17 percent growth in 2008-09, thanks to the kitty
of government orders it bagged. Since the government sector is the key focus for
the company, during the election phase, the company faced some issues due to
lack of orders.

However, it managed to post revenues of Rs 82 crore over Rs 70 crore last
year. One of the key financial strengths for the company lies in the fact that
most of the orders are five to six years long.

The company attributes its modest growth rate to longer period contracts,
negligible employee attrition rate, and funding support from banks.

Currently, Tera Software is working on e-governance projects in 11 states,
and plans to widen its reach across the nation. In consortium with Electronics
Corporation of India (ECIL), the company has bagged the Kerala State Road
Transport Corporation (KSRTC) contract for complete automation of the
department. The total order value is worth Rs 48 crore. In addition, the
company, partnering with ECIL, has also bagged a project worth Rs 1.25 billion
from the Maharashtra Sales Tax Department for automation outsourcing, which
includes the designing of IT, architecture, execution of outsourced processes
and application software development and maintenance.
