Two distributors in the ninth DQ Channels Silver Club posted a three-digit
growth, while two posted negative growth. As against this, all solution
providers posted only positive growth figures in the Silver Club. Read about the
other trends that were evident amongst the country's top 25 distributors and
solution providers
The leaders of the DQ Channels Silver Club continued to reign in the ranking
for 2007-08 in the distributor and solution provider category as well. While
Ingram Micro India lorded over the distributors ranking, Accel Frontline was
quite ahead of all other solution providers.
Every year DQ Channels sends out a form soliciting extensive corporate
information to the country's leading distributors and solution providers who
then fill in the details and send the same back. This year however, we decided
to bring in more transparency into the system.
To ensure that all the revenues mentioned in the Silver Club were
indisputable, DQ Channels also asked all the companies who had it into the Club
to send in either a copy of their balance sheet or a certificate from their
chartered accountant about the revenues submitted by them. This has made the
ranking more foolproof. Besides this, companies which had the same revenues
share a ranking, unlike the previous years' Silver Clubs.
What is unique about this year's Silver Club is the fact it has the highest
numbers of new companies in it, especially when it comes to the solution
providing list. These newcomers include Compuage Infocom and Datacare
Corporation amongst distributors and Pentagon Systems and Services, Quantm Net
Technologies and Quadsel Systems.

Two of last year's solution providers did not feature in the ranking this
year. These were Syntech Infomatics, which started focusing more on its
broadcasting business while Ontrack Solutions and Dreamquest slipped into the
Next 25 Club.

Amongst distributors Compuage Infocom, Roop Technologies, Technocrat and Alco
Infotech have joined the league of the biggies. Venktron, which was at #24 in
2006-07 ranking found itself in the Next 25 Club at #30 this year.
Here was a great deal of movement amongst the companies besides the inclusion
of these above mentioned companies. Some of the leading organizations slipped
down by several ranks. One of them was Neoteric Infomatique, which slipped from
# 7 in 2006-07 to #10. Yet another was Transtek Infoways, which moved down to
#22 from the previous year's #19.
Amongst solution providers, Allied Digital and Sai Infosystems made it into
the top three ranking, up from #8 and #7 respectively while Apara Enterprises
was the fastest climber in the ranks moving up from #15 to #7 in 2007-08. Visesh
Infotecnics slipped from #13 to # 19 while Orient Technologies moved down to #21
from #17 in 2006-07.
There were other companies too which have either moved upwards or down. But
Team Computers was the only solution providing company which held on to its
position, while amongst distributors Redington India, Rashi Peripherals and
Supertron Electronics held onto their ranks. Sogo Computers surged from the
fringes of the Silver Club at #25 in 2006-07 to establish itself at #16, making
it the fastest climber amongst distributors.
Amongst distributors eSys India posted the maximum decline in revenues at -61
percent. This was because the direct revenue of eSys Singapore in India was not
included this year following a global restructuring wherein the company is no
longer a subsidiary of eSys Technologies Pte. Singapore. The other distributor,
which posted a negative growth of six percent in 2007-08 was New Delhi-based
Transtek Infoways.

Comparatively, it was however heartening to see that all solution providers
in the Silver Club registered a robust two-digit growth. The only few companies
which had a single digit growth were Frontier Business Systems, Vitage Systems
and Visesh Infotechnics. At the same time, all three of these companies shored
their bottomline growth, though their topline did not grow as well.
Congratulations once again to all the enterprising organizations, which
strove to growth their business and be at the helm of the country's channel
community.
