The DQ Week Holds Awards Night

The DQ Week Delhi Awards Night, held recently was well received by the vendor
and channel community who showed their support by turning up in large numbers.
The event witnessed a footfall of more than 400 people.

Amconics was the official sponsor while Linksys and Unistal were the
associate sponsors. Amconics took the opportunity to showcase some of its
products. Models walked the stage displaying latest LCD monitors from Amconics.
The company also gave channel partners the opportunity to win prizes, in the
form of quizes, lucky draws etc.

The glittering awards night saw prominent channel players from across North
India grace the occasion. The awards aim to recognize the contribution of
channel partners across 37 cities of North India and approximately 80 Indian
cities. Like every year, the awardees were decided by a jury, which included
eminent people from the industry. The panel this year comprised Rajesh Khurana,
Country Manager, India and SAARC, Seagate Technology; Nikhil Kumar, Enterprise
Platform Manager-South Asia, Intel; Mukesh Choudhury, DGM-Sales North (2),
Ingram Micro and Abhinav Parashar, DGM-Sales North (1), Ingram Micro.

The event started with an opening remark by Ibrahim Ahmad, Group Editor, The
DQ Week. It was followed by a presentation from Sanjeev Soni, Country
Manager-India, Amconics International.

The ceremony began by honoring channel partners from cities other than Delhi.
For the second year in a row, Computer Touch got the Best Channel Partner Award
for Ambala. From the Silicon Valley of India, Gurgaon-the award went to MM9
Information Technology, who was a new entrant in the award winners' list.

Another first time award winner was Infotech Computer & Communication from
Karnal. From the twin cities of Panipat and Sonipat, the award went to Computer
City.

The Best Channel Partner Award for Himachal Pradesh went to Shimla-based
Eline.

For the fourth year in a row, AGM Sales Corporation bagged the award for Best
Channel Partner for Jammu. Close on their heels, making a hat-trick this time
was Nice Computers from Srinagar.

In Raipur, scoring a hat-trick was Priyanka Computer Services. Also
completing their hat-trick, Latest Infotech was once again awarded the best
channel partner of Bhopal. A new entrant this year was Data Print who bagged the
award for the best channel partner in Gwalior. From the heart of India, Indore
the award for the second year went to Computer Gallery. Microland Computers was
once again the best channel partner for Jabalpur.

This year the jury decided to honor two partners for their contribution to
the IT business in Chandigarh. The award for best sub-distributor for Chandigarh
went to Sapphire Informatique, while the award for best SI from Chandigarh went
to Spectra Compu-tech.

In the holy city of Amritsar, NV Computers walked away with the Best Channel
Partner Award for the fourth time in a row.

Jalandhar made a comeback with Impel Infosys, winning the Best Channel
Partner Award. Winning the best channel partner for Ludhiana was IDM Solutions,
who won the award after five years.

Another town that made a comeback to the awards after almost two years was
Patiala. And winning the award for the first time was Viki Enterprises.

Making a debut in the awards was the city, which is as famous for the dargah
of Moinuddin Chisty as much for the colorful Pushkar fair that it hosts every
year. The award for the best channel partner for Ajmer went to Symbiosis
Computer Vision.

In the Pink City, Kanchan Computech was the winner of the best channel
partner for Jaipur.

For the 'Sun City' of India, Jodhpur, after a gap of two years, Frontline
Computers bagged the Best Channel Partner Award. In Udaipur, for the fifth time
in six years the award went to Tayal Software.

In Dehradun, the award for best channel went to Strategic Marketing, while
for the second year in a row Intech Infosys bagged the best channel partner for
Uttaranchal Up-country.

From the land of the Taj Mahal, for the fifth year in a row MKG Infotech was
the best channel partner of Agra. A step ahead was Tritech Enterprises, who
bagged the award for the sixth time this year for Allahabad.

Aadhar Computech from Ghaziabad got the award for the fourth year in a row.

Also winning the award for the fourth time was Jalan Distributors from
Gorakhpur.

The award for best channel partner for Jhansi this year went to Comtech
Computers.

Comexcell Technologies won the best channel partner award for Kanpur for the
seventh straight year in a row.

From the capital city of UP, Sigma IT Superstore was the best channel partner
for Lucknow, while Foretek Systems got the award for the sixth year in a row for
Meerut. The award for Varanasi for the second year went to Life Computers.

The jury instituted a new award this year-Best System Builder. The award went
to New Delhi-based Green Vision.On receiving the award Saket Kapur, CEO, Green
Vision said, “I thank The DQ Week for including this category and am really
honored to receive this award.” The Best Media Reseller award went to Saitronics
and Systems. Futuresoft Solutions bagged the Best Software Reseller award. The
Silver award in Retail category went to Landmark. And the Gold award in the
Retail category went to Computer Land, for the fifth time.

In the reseller category, the Silver award went to PL Computers. Computer
Empire bagged the Gold award in the Reseller category for Delhi. Progressive
Infotech got the Silver award in the System Integration category while the Gold
award for System Integration went to Team Computers. Ranjan Chopra of Team
Computers said on receiving the award, “Baal safed ho gaye hain par zindagi mein
cheeni kum hai. Those who have seen the movie will understand what I am saying.”

The Silver award in the Sub-distribution category went to Elcom Trading. And
the Gold award in this category went to RR Systems.
